What Brings You In?

Start with what you want to change.

You do not need to determine the right technique before booking. Mike begins with your symptoms, history, movement, and goals.

Pain & Movement

Support for back, neck and shoulder pain, joint discomfort, arthritis, muscle tension, restricted motion, and persistent orthopedic concerns.

Headaches & Balance

Individualized care for tension headaches, migraines, dizziness, and vertigo-related symptoms after appropriate medical evaluation.

Stress, Anxiety & PTSD Support

A calm, trauma-aware approach that may help with chronic stress, anxiety, sleep disruption, tension, and symptoms associated with PTSD.

Cancer Treatment Symptom Management

Complementary acupuncture support in Blaine for women and men managing symptoms during or after cancer treatment. Talk with Mike about treatment-related pain, nausea, fatigue, hot flashes, neuropathy, sleep, and stress. Evidence and response vary by symptom; acupuncture may help some patients with aromatase inhibitor-related joint pain. Your plan should be coordinated with your oncology team and does not replace cancer treatment. Read the National Cancer Institute’s acupuncture overview.

A Practical Treatment Strategy

Traditional knowledge. Functional focus.

Mike combines Traditional Chinese Medicine principles with detailed knowledge of anatomy, movement, and musculoskeletal function. Treatment is adjusted based on what you are experiencing and how your body responds.

AcupuncturePrecisely placed, single-use needles selected for your treatment goals.
Orthopedic TechniquesMotor-point and trigger-point approaches for pain and movement concerns.
CuppingControlled suction used to address muscular tension and support local circulation.
MoxibustionTargeted warming therapy used when clinically appropriate within a treatment plan.

Cupping, Integrated

Focused support for stubborn muscle tension.

Cupping uses controlled suction and may be incorporated into an acupuncture treatment when it fits your symptoms and plan. It is also available as part of massage care with every massage therapist except Kaylee.

Your practitioner will review your health history, explain what the technique feels like, and determine whether it is appropriate. Temporary circular marks are common and may remain visible for several days.

Searching for dry needling? This is acupuncture.

Dry needling and trigger point needling are acupuncture under different names. Mike has used these techniques as part of his established acupuncture practice; this is not a newly added service.

Our concern is patient safety: a different marketing name does not make a short supplemental needling course equivalent to years of specialized acupuncture education and supervised clinical training. Minnesota’s 2026 law explicitly includes these needle-based therapies in its definition of acupuncture.

Meet Your Acupuncturist

Mike Ackerman

Owner & Acupuncturist

Mike helps women and men function better when pain, injury, stress, or complex symptoms have disrupted daily life.

His approach combines attentive listening with targeted treatment. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all protocol, Mike evaluates what is limiting you and builds care around your goals, response, and progress.

His practice includes orthopedic and sports-related pain, headaches and vertigo, chronic stress, anxiety and PTSD-related symptoms, and complementary support for people managing cancer-treatment side effects.

What to Expect

A clear, personalized process.

1

Start With Your Story

Discuss symptoms, health history, medical care, and what you hope treatment will help you accomplish.

2

Receive Focused Care

Your treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, or other appropriate techniques based on the assessment.

3

Review Your Response

Mike evaluates progress and recommends an appropriate cadence rather than placing everyone on the same plan.

Complementary care, responsibly positioned.

Acupuncture is not a substitute for emergency care, cancer treatment, mental-health treatment, or evaluation of new neurological symptoms. When used for complex conditions or treatment-related side effects, it should complement care from your medical team.
